Brioni Beach - Pula, Croatia
Beach character
The beach features a straight shoreline with a surface composition of gray sand interspersed with boulders. The seabed is covered in medium-sized pebbles, which may pose challenges for young children or those unaccustomed to such terrain. Natural rock formations along the shore provide partial shade, though sun protection remains essential. The depth increases sharply near the water's edge, creating a more suitable environment for confident swimmers and water sports enthusiasts.Swimming and shore
Swimming conditions are generally safe for competent swimmers, with the sharp depth increase acting as a natural barrier for toddlers. The pebbly seabed may make standing difficult for some visitors, but the area is well-suited for activities like snorkeling and kayaking. The beach's orientation and surrounding cliffs create a sheltered cove effect, reducing wave intensity during calmer weather.Facilities and activities
Brioni Beach offers a range of water-based activities including windsurfing, kayaking, snorkeling, parasailing, and general water entertainment. These services are directly accessible from the adjacent Hotel Brioni, which provides equipment and guidance. No permanent beach facilities are listed in official records, though visitor accounts mention the presence of showers. The beach's primary appeal lies in its connection to the hotel's recreational offerings.Access and location
Access to the beach is via a set of stairs descending from the Hotel Brioni complex. The location within Verudella ensures proximity to Pula's main attractions, including the Roman amphitheater and the city's marinas. The beach is approximately 4 kilometers from Pula's old town, with road access via the A1 motorway connecting to major Croatian cities. What visitors say
Visitors consistently highlight the beach's watersports opportunities and scenic backdrop. One reviewer noted the 'glorious' atmosphere, describing the hotel as a 'grandiose' setting. Another emphasized the ease of accessing parasailing and kayaking directly from the hotel. While the beach is 'packed' during peak season, off-season visits report fewer crowds and immediate availability for activities.Practical tips
Those visiting with young children should be prepared for the pebbly seabed, which may require footwear. The sharp depth increase near the shore makes it unsuitable for very young swimmers. Visitors are advised to bring water shoes for comfort and to check with the Hotel Brioni for the latest availability of water sports equipment.Exploring the coast by yacht
For yacht charter guests exploring the Istrian coast, Brioni Beach offers a convenient stop near Pula's marinas. The surrounding area features several anchorages and fuel stations accessible via the Euro-Agent POI maps. Charter yachts may use this beach as a base for day trips to Pula's historical sites or for enjoying water sports in the sheltered cove. The Hotel Brioni Connection
The beach's proximity to the Hotel Brioni creates a unique synergy between land and sea. The hotel's recreational services, including water sports equipment and guided tours, are directly accessible from the beach. This integration makes Brioni Beach particularly appealing to hotel guests seeking immediate access to aquatic activities.Anchorages in the surrounding area

Reviews
Beautiful spot for a week off. Enjoyed the watersports and had laughs>
Great water sports offer directly at the hotel. We did parasailing, it was awesome! We were in the off season and didn't have to wait. The guys there were very friendly and we felt safe.
Not to be confused with the busy Ambrela Beach few hundreds meters away, this swimming spot is absolutely glorious. Not a beach per se, just a few sets of stairs going down to crystal clear waters with a grandiose hotel as backdrop. It was so pristine I thought it was private, but we ended up spending most of the afternoon there. And there are showers too. Istria
