Beach Skvaranska, Croatia
Beach character
The beach's defining feature is its composition of beige pebbles, which cover most of the shore. Beneath the water, the seabed transitions to boulders, creating a moderate depth gradient that makes swimming possible but less ideal for those seeking soft sands. The surrounding landscape is marked by dramatic cliffs that rise sharply from the water's edge, offering striking vistas for visitors. While the beach lacks formal amenities, its natural setting and minimal human impact contribute to a sense of untouched wilderness.Swimming and shore
Swimming conditions at Skvaranska are shaped by its pebble beach and moderate depth. The absence of sand means the shore is less comfortable for barefoot wading, though the clear waters of the Adriatic make it suitable for snorkeling. The beach's orientation and cliff protection create a relatively sheltered environment, though visitors should be aware that there is no natural shade. One reviewer noted the need for 'an umbrella or beach tent' to mitigate the sun's intensity during peak hours.Facilities and activities
The beach has no formal facilities, reflecting its remote character. The primary activity is hiking via the challenging trail from Ravni Beach, which winds through pine forests and offers panoramic views of the coastline. The path is described as 'rough terrain' requiring sturdy footwear, with one visitor emphasizing the need to avoid 'flip-flops or water shoes.' The beach's isolation makes it unsuitable for families with young children but appealing to hikers seeking an adventurous route.Access and location
Access to Beach Skvaranska requires a 40-minute trek from Ravni Beach along a narrow, stone path through dense pine forests. The trail is well-defined but not marked, necessitating a map or local guidance. Visitors should note that the path is not wheelchair accessible and involves uneven terrain. The beach's location in Koromačno places it within the broader Istrian Peninsula, a region known for its rugged coastline and historic villages. What visitors say
Visitors consistently highlight the beach's natural beauty and sense of seclusion. One reviewer described it as 'a beautiful bay with a stone beach and a light blue sea,' while another called it 'stunning' and 'worth a visit in its unspoiled nature.' However, environmental concerns are recurring themes: multiple visitors reported finding plastic waste and styrofoam near the shore, with one noting an abandoned house above the beach filled with debris. Despite these issues, the beach remains popular for its tranquility, with one visitor noting they 'had it all to themselves from morning to night' during a September visit.Practical tips
Bring sturdy footwear for the hiking trail and consider carrying a beach tent for shade. Visitors are encouraged to take waste bags to help mitigate the environmental issues noted by previous guests. The beach's remote location means there are no nearby facilities for food or drink, so plan accordingly.Exploring the coast by yacht
For yacht charter guests exploring the Istrian coast, Skvaranska Beach offers a unique anchorage opportunity in a less-visited part of the region. While the beach itself is not a formal marina, nearby settlements like Ravni and Koromačno provide access to the Euro-Agent Yacht Charter network. Charterers interested in this area may find the surrounding coastline particularly appealing for sailing excursions, with the beach serving as a potential landing point for those seeking a secluded shore break.Environmental Considerations
Multiple visitors have reported finding plastic waste and styrofoam along the beach, highlighting the need for responsible tourism. One reviewer noted an abandoned house above the beach filled with debris, suggesting ongoing environmental challenges in the area. Visitors are encouraged to take waste with them and support local conservation efforts.Anchorages in the surrounding area

Reviews
A beautiful bay with a stone beach, without shade, with a beautiful light blue sea. Access to Skvaranska beach is from Ravni beach along a stone path through a pine forest. A shady coastal path takes you to a bay in almost an hour of slow walking, which is worth a visit in its unspoiled nature. When I visited in June, the beach was clean, almost without garbage, but I picked up some plastic and took it away. There is an abandoned house above the beach, which probably once served the local fishermen, today it is full of garbage and the bushes above the beach are also full of plastic and styrofoam washed up from the sea. Let's protect nature and also take care of those who come after us.
Access via a narrow path through a pine forest (close to the shore - great views). When going there, take good footwear (no flip-flops, water shoes, etc.). An umbrella or beach tent is welcome - no shade. 40 minutes from Ravni is enough to enjoy the charms of the Adriatic Sea. The only downside is the noisy motorboats and scooters that sometimes appear there. If you want to be eco-friendly, take a slightly larger waste bag in which you can always collect something from the beach with you to the trash bin in Ravnia. Such a small tribute to our Mother Nature 😉
Stunning cove! One Sunday in September we were lucky enough to have it all to ourselves, from morning to night.
Beautiful! Istria
