Beach Klanac, Croatia
Beach character
The beach's natural features include a 20-meter-wide shoreline composed of beige sand, with a sea floor that transitions from sand to boulders. Depth increases smoothly, creating shallow waters ideal for young swimmers. Natural shade is available along parts of the shore, though the beach's exposure to the elements means visitors should prepare for direct sunlight. The absence of artificial structures preserves its unspoiled coastal character.Swimming and shore
The shallow, gradual depth profile makes Beach Klanac particularly welcoming for children and novice swimmers. Clear green water, noted in multiple visitor accounts, enhances visibility of the sandy and rocky seabed. While no lifeguards or formal safety services are mentioned in the catalog, the consistent depth and lack of reported hazards (such as sea urchins or jellyfish) suggest a relatively safe environment for water activities.Facilities and activities
No formal facilities are listed in the beach's authoritative records, though visitor reports mention nearby access to toilets and showers. The beach is explicitly associated with two activities: stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and surfing, likely due to its consistent wave patterns and shallow waters. The lack of structured amenities means visitors should plan for self-sufficiency in terms of equipment and refreshments.Access and location
Situated in Tkon, Beach Klanac is part of the broader Zadar region, known for its historic coastal towns and maritime traditions. Its coordinates (43.91326, 15.4307) place it within a sailing area that connects to major Adriatic routes. The beach's proximity to Glavičine 44 suggests it may be accessible via local roads, though specific parking details are not confirmed in the catalog. What visitors say
Visitors consistently praise Beach Klanac's water clarity and family-friendliness. One reviewer noted the 'beautiful clear green water' and absence of sea urchins, while another highlighted the 'very shallow all the way out' as ideal for young children. Both accounts mention the lack of on-site refreshments but note the presence of nearby toilets and showers. The beach's 'busy' high-season crowd level, combined with its good cleanliness rating, suggests it balances popularity with manageable conditions.Practical tips
Given the beach's shallow profile, it's particularly suitable for families with young children. The absence of formal amenities means bringing personal items like sunscreen, towels, and refreshments is advisable. Visitors should note that while the water is consistently clear, the sandy and rocky seabed may require careful footing when entering or exiting the water.Exploring the coast by yacht

Reviews
Enjoyed this beach very much. More sand than stones, very shallow all the way out and beautiful clear green water. I didn't see any sea urchins and liked that. Great for younger ones. No place for a drink but there is a toilet and a shower not far away.
We loved here very clear (and clean) water. Depth of water was very low, so it is good place for small kids. Sand in water felt awesome. There was no hedgehog or jellyfish. Just little fishes. Zadar
