Beach AC Stoja - Pula, Croatia
Beach character
The beach's defining feature is its straight shoreline, flanked by natural cliffs that provide partial shade. The seabed is covered with large boulders, a condition explicitly noted in the beach's authoritative features. This rocky substrate may pose challenges for swimmers but creates a distinctive environment for activities like diving and snorkeling. The beach is categorized as 'packed' during high season, though reviews highlight its appeal in spring when crowds are lighter.Swimming and shore
Swimming conditions are influenced by the boulder-strewn seabed, with one reviewer noting the beach is 'mostly rocks and cliffs.' However, flat rocks near the shore offer areas for relaxation. The depth increases moderately without sharp drops, making it accessible for some swimmers. The beach's natural landscape, including cliffs and boulders, creates a rugged shore profile that contrasts with more conventional sandy beaches.Facilities and activities
The beach includes a camping site with free entry, toilets, and nearby cafes. Parking options are limited to a small lot for 10 vehicles and a 'wild' free parking area near the entrance. Activities available include diving, snorkeling, and beach volleyball. The camping infrastructure is highlighted in reviews as a key attraction, though the beach itself lacks structured amenities like showers or changing rooms.Access and location
Beach AC Stoja is accessible by car or bus from Pula. The nearest coordinates are 44.85447Β°N, 13.81583Β°E. The beach is part of the broader Pula region, which offers connections to other coastal attractions and yacht charter routes in the Adriatic. What visitors say
Reviewers consistently praise the beach's scenic views and suitability for camping, with one noting it's 'a must see' if visiting Pula. Spring months are highlighted as ideal for avoiding crowds. However, some visitors mention challenges: one described the beach as 'not that great for swimming' due to rocks, while another noted the grass appears 'burned and dry' out of season. The camping site receives particular acclaim for its free access and facilities.Practical tips
Consider visiting in spring for lighter crowds and better swimming conditions. Be prepared for limited parking and rocky terrain. The camping site offers amenities but lacks structured facilities like showers. Out-of-season visits may encounter dry vegetation, though this does not detract from the beach's natural character.Exploring the coast by yacht
For yacht charter travelers, Beach AC Stoja's location in Pula provides access to the broader Istrian coast. The area is part of a sailing region with nearby marinas and anchorages, though the beach itself is not a designated yacht stop. Charter guests exploring the Pula area may find this beach a useful reference point for coastal excursions and land-based activities.Camping and Seasonal Variations
The beach's camping infrastructure is a notable feature, with reviewers emphasizing its free access and basic amenities. However, seasonal conditions affect the experience: spring brings lighter crowds and better swimming, while out-of-season visits may find the vegetation less vibrant. This makes the beach particularly appealing for those prioritizing camping over water-based activities.Anchorages in the surrounding area

Reviews
Beautiful spot, totally worth it a walk there. You can either go in the camp area or park outside and walk in. It took us about an hour to walk around and enjoy the whole area. Not that great for swimming as it is mostly rocks and cliffs. Still, you can relax and chill by the big flat rocks. The views are amazing! If you are in Pula, it's a must see.
Great beach especially in spring when it's not crowded
Stoja has a good camping site with a great pebble beaches. You should visit it even if you are not a fan of camping sites, itβs free of charge to enter the beach, you have toilets there and a few cafes. Itβs possible to get here by bus or by car, there is a small (really small parking for like 10 cars) and another, so to say βwildβ free parking a few metres from entrance.
