Adriatic II Beach: A Family-Friendly and Dog-Friendly Coastal Gem in Croatia
Beach character
Adriatic II Beach is defined by its multi-cove structure, with a width of 40 meters and a depth that increases gradually. The beach surface combines beige sand with pebbles, offering a stable base for sunbathing and water activities. The sea floor is predominantly pebbles, which, while less soft than sand, contributes to the beach's distinct character. According to visitor reports, the beach is notably crowded during peak season, particularly in August, when families with children dominate the shoreline. Cleanliness is consistently rated as 'good,' with no explicit fees or entry barriers noted in the catalog. The beach's appeal extends to pet owners, as it explicitly allows dogs with designated areas marked by information signs.Swimming and shore
The water at Adriatic II Beach is described as 'pristine' in reviews, with clear visibility that supports activities like snorkeling and swimming. However, visitors have reported the presence of sea urchins, a potential hazard for swimmers. The depth increases moderately, making it suitable for both casual swimmers and more experienced bathers. While the beach lacks natural shade beyond early afternoon, the pebble-covered shore provides a cooler alternative to sand for those seeking respite from the sun. The combination of clear water and varied seabed makes it an attractive spot for water-based recreation.Facilities and activities
Adriatic II Beach supports a range of water activities, including kayaking, surfing, snorkeling, and general water entertainment. While the catalog does not list explicit facilities like showers or restrooms, visitor reviews mention the availability of dog-specific showers and clean toilets. These amenities are not officially documented in the beach's authoritative features, suggesting they may be part of nearby camping infrastructure rather than the beach itself. The absence of structured amenities does not detract from the beach's core offerings, which focus on natural access and outdoor engagement.Access and location
Located at Primorska cesta bb in Njivice, Adriatic II Beach is accessible via road networks connecting to the broader Istrian Peninsula. Visitor reviews note that parking is available outside the camping area, though specific details about parking capacity or fees are not provided. The beach's proximity to the village of Njivice places it within reach of local services and cultural sites in the region. Its position along the Adriatic coast situates it within a sailing area that includes several marinas and anchorages, making it a potential stop for yachters exploring the northern Adriatic. What visitors say
Reviewers consistently highlight Adriatic II Beach's dog-friendly policies, with multiple visitors noting the presence of dedicated pet areas and facilities like dog showers. One reviewer emphasized that while the beach can feel crowded in August, the presence of families with children often creates a welcoming atmosphere for dogs. Another noted the absence of sand, which reduces the mess associated with pet visits. However, warnings about sea urchins and the lack of shade after midday are recurring themes. Cleanliness is frequently praised, with reviewers attributing this to litter boxes and free dog waste bags provided on-site.Practical tips
Visitors should be mindful of sea urchins in the shallows and consider wearing protective footwear. Dogs should be kept on designated areas as indicated by information signs. Parking is available outside the camping zone, and facilities like showers and toilets are accessible but not directly on the beach. The beach's popularity in August means early arrival may be advisable for more space.Exploring the coast by yacht
For yacht charter guests, Adriatic II Beach lies within a sailing area that includes several marinas and anchorages along Croatia's northern Adriatic coast. Reviews
Nice and clean beach. Not a lot of natural shade. At least 60 % of people there were families with small kids (first week of August) who did not have dogs so it was a bit hard for dogs to play and swim there. But everyone on the beach was nice and all the kids without dogs love to pet the puppies 😄 also be careful - water is clear but it has a lot of sea urchins!
Great doggy beach. Parking by car outside of the camping. No entry fee. Shades until about 2 pm, after that no shades directly by the shore. Nice facilities, incl. shower for dog and owner alike and clean toilettes.
Lovely beach. It's not a sandy beach which is even better because your dog won't bring tonnes of sand in your mobile home. And your towel won't get so dirty 😁 There are even litter boxes and these pubags for free. That's why the beach is clean! Clear water and a one minute walk to the dog showers. What else do you need for a happy day with your dog at sea?
Very nice beach! Dogs are allowed to be there and also to swim. We went there with our baby boxer dog, Pedro. We had a great time with him. He made friends with other dogs too. People there have very polite and well behaved dogs. The water is pristine. Very clear, and very nice to swim. Ideal, since it wasn’t crowded.
Wonderful beach. Our dog and we all had so much fun there. Better than other beaches because it was not overcrowded. Primorje-Gorski Kotar
